Once you iPhone is in DFU mode WinPwn will begin the pwnage process.

You will be informed when pwnage is complete.

Notice that your iPhone will display a "Ready to restore Custom IPSW" message.

Step Fifteen
iTunes will now prompt you that you are in recovery mode.

Make sure to Hold down Shift and click the Restore button in iTunes.

A file browsing dialog will appear asking you to select your ipsw firmware file. Select the Custom firmware file created by WinPwn then click the Open button.

NOTE**: WinPwn places the Custom firmware file in the "My Documents" folder by default.

Your iPhone 3G will now be restored to the jailbroken 2.0.2 firmware!

These are step by step instructions on how to use QuickPwn 1.1 for Apple Mac OSX to jailbreak your 2.1 iPhone or iPhone 3G.

Step One
Create a folder on your desktop called Pwnage

Step Two
Download QuickPwn 1.1 from here and place it in the Pwnage folder. Likewise, download the latest 2.1 firmware from below and place it in the same folder.

Step Three
Now double click to mount the QuickPwn [QuickPwn_1.1.dmg] archive that you downloaded above. Then drag the QuickPwn application into the Pwnage folder you created on your desktop.

Step Five
Click OK to accept the copyright notice.

Step Six
Connect your iPhone or iPhone 3G into the computer when asked, then click OK.

QuickPwn will now automatically detect the device that you connected!

QuickPwn will now attempt to find the latest firmware for this device

Step Nine
You will be asked if you would like to replace the original boot and recovery logos on your iPhone. Select Yes or No to continue.

You will be prompted to enter your username and password. After doing this, then click OK.

Step Twelve
QuickPwn will now guide you on how to put your iPhone into DFU mode. Pay attention and do exactly as QuickPwn directs you. First, turn off the device.

Next, you will be prompted to hold both the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds.

Finally, you will let go of the power button and continue holding down the Home button for another 10 seconds.

Step Thirteen
QuickPwn will now begin sending information to your iPhone.

You will notified that QuickPwn is modifying your iPhone. The process will take some time and will cause the iPhone to reboot. Do not do anything until the process has completed.

REQUIRED:

Step One
Create a folder on your desktop called Pwnage.

Download the following files and place them in this Pwnage folder you just created on your desktop:

Navigate to the Pwnage folder you created on your desktop and select the 2.1 firmware ipsw file. Double click the ipsw file or select it and click the Open button to proceed.

Step Three
Once iTunes has finished upgrading your iPhone to the 2.1 firmware you may launch QuickPwn 2.1 from the Pwnage folder you created on your desktop.

Step Four
Make sure you iPhone is still connected to the computer via USB cable then click the blue arrow to proceed.

Step Five
Click the Browse button to locate your iPhone firmware.

Step Six
Select the 2.1 firmware ipsw file from the Pwnage folder you created on your desktop then double click the ipsw file or select it then click the Open button.

Step Seven
QuickPwn will check to verify that the ipsw file is valid. After completetion of the verification, click the blue arrow button to proceed.

Step Eight
You can now select whether to Add Cydia, Add Installer, or Replace Boot Logos. Select the ones you would like to perform then click the clue arrow button. Installing Cydia and Installer is highly recommended to enjoy the full jailbreak experience.

Step Nine
You will now be prompted to select your bootloader files. Click on the Browse button and select the 3.9 bootloader from the Pwnage folder you created on your desktop. Repeat this for the 4.6 bootloader file. Then click the blue arrow button to proceed.

Step Ten
QuickPwn will now ask you to confirm your iPhone is still connected via USB cable before it continues. Click the blue arrow button to proceed.

Step Eleven
QuickPwn will now automatically put your iPhone into recovery mode. Once its in recovery mode you will be prompted to: Hold the Home button for 5 seconds, Hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds, then release the Power button and continuing holding the Home button until your iPhone is in DFU mode.

Note: Pay attention and do exactly as it says

Step Twelve
Once QuickPwn detects your iPhone in DFU mode it will begin the jailbreaking process.

Step Thirteen
Once jailbreaking is complete QuickPwn will inform you that it haz Pwned! Your iPhone will then reboot and run BootNeuter. Let BootNeuter do it's thing, do not interupt it. This process will take about 5 minutes. Remember patience is a virtue. Your iPhone will reboot when it has completed.

Create your own Icon Dock TUT (just the dock)

This is a TUT on how to make your own Icon Dock. Warning: I used Windows so I do not know if it is the same for Mac users

Things you will need:

Iphone or iPod Touch
WinterBoard
To know how to use and have access to SSH
A picture editing program (I prefer Paint.NET)
The transparent dock theme that I think comes with WinterBoard
A picture or design you want your dock to be

Here we go!

Set up your ipod with SSH and go to /Private/var/stash/Themes

Click on Transparent Dock and minimize it for now.

Open Paint.NET (or whatever you use) and click File/New. Set it as 320X91.

Get the picture or design you want and copy and past or drag it onto the rectangle.

It should now ask if you want to expand canvas or keep it the same. You should keep it the same.

Resize your image to fit in the rectangle and make it how you want.

Once you are done making it fancy, click File/Save As. Save it to your desktop and name it Dock (Make sure that you save it as .PNG or else this wont work)

Drag the Dock.PNG to the WinSCP window and drop it down there. Click Copy and then Yes when it asks.

Now go back one to /Private/var/stash/Themes and rename the transparent dock to (insert dock name here).theme

Now exit WinSCP, go to your ipod, go to WinterBoard and pick your new dock

I dont think it will work if you have a complete theme on it already so dont freak if it doesnt work

CONGRATS!! You are now done.

[Guide] Recommended Cydia Apps - Feel free to add more

Here is what I personally recommend for Cydia Apps:

1) SBSettings. It lets you toggle lots of stuff on and off and add new toggles to it and run it from basically almost all other apps. One nifty feature is brightness control. So basically you wouldn't have to quite most apps to change a few settings here and there and then launch em again.
Specially useful to turn WiFi, Edge and 3G networks on and off. No more unexpected, ridiculously large bills. Lol.

2) Mobile Substrate. Required for lots of apps. Its a system thing, so you don't have to set it up manually.

3) Supreme Settings. An upgraded and enhanced Settings.app.

4) Clippy. Cut, copy and paste. A toggle is also available for SBSettings.

5) Winterboard. Themes and such.

6) Terminal. Some apps require it and very useful and required for cracked apps.

7) HiCalc if you need it. An enhanced calculator.

8) Power Tool. As the name suggests. Makes it a lot easier to turn your phone off instead of holding the Power Button for what seems like an eternity specially when your in a hurry, and very useful when you wanna reboot your phone.

9) AptBackup. Extremely important and recommended. It makes a list of all Cydia apps you have downloaded and backs it up with other info via iTunes. So if you need to restore or anything, you can re-install it and then Restore your Back up from iTunes, and it will automatically re-install all the apps you've had. Mostly with their settings.

10) Shuffle or Instinctive Shuffle. An enhanced Shuffle for the iPod.

11) Check the Tweaks and System packages in Cydia. Lots of good stuff there but nothing in particular is coming to mind. Just skim through it and you WILL find something good.

12) Mobile Installer, was it called? I cant remember.. Sorry. Anyhow, this is also needed for cracked apps.

If I think of anything else, ama let you know.

OH! Yea, also check the featured packages on the homepage of Cydia. Lots of useful apps there.

During the week of Easter, the game has been lowered from its normal $3.99, to free. Hurry because this offer ends today, so make sure you get it before midnight. This is a perfect way to spend your Easter if you have nothing better to do. Try it, it just may be worth it because if you get into their top 5 list for global high scores, you can choose your pick of any of their paid applications and redeem them for free.

The objective of the game is to get as many of your ten eggs, from the ground, all the way up to the top by making it leap from bird basket to bird basket. iEggs also has nice artistic forest backgrounds. In the beginning, the game seems dull and boring because of its simplistic goal. However during gameplay, every successful advance becomes a more and more suspenseful challenge. Background music unfortunately is a repetitive loop of bird chirps and sounds of the jungle. When your egg lands on the next basket, it sounds similar to the sound a trampoline makes when you jump on it. Eventually, after a long period of time, you will be so focused in the game that you will feel like you really are in the forest.

Personally, it was easier playing landscape mode (although the game doesn’t move sideways) because it’s easier to line up the eggs and go to next bird. I also wouldn’t put the iPhone/iPod right in front of your face, try to put it 6-10 inches in front of you.

Instructions:

The objective of the game is to take the eggs from the ground to the nest which is there on the top of the tree.
There are birds flying at different height levels carrying baskets.
Tap on the screen to make the egg jump to the next level basket carried by another bird.
Difficulty increases with each egg.
You can make more score by taking the egg up faster.

Tricking iTunes for free ringtones (Windows)

First off, you need to go into your iTunes preferences and make sure that you have the AAC converter turned on. To check, go into the iTunes preferences and click on the 'Advanced' tab. Click the 'Importing' tab and under 'Import Using' should say 'AAC Encoder'.

It's all set right? Sweet! Now pick a song that you want to get a 30 second clip from. Right click on the song and select 'Get Info' from the menu.

Just for simplicity sake, lets just say that you want the first 30 seconds of the song. You will click on the 'Options' tab and change the Start and Stop time. Click the checkboxes and change the Stop time to 0:30. Feel free to use any 30 second segment that you wish. Just note the start time and add 30 seconds to it for the stop time.

The hard part is done! Now just exit out of the 'Get Info' screen and right click on the song that you just modified and select 'Convert Selection to AAC' from the menu. Let iTunes work it's magic.

You will get a second song in your iTunes library ... but it will only be 30 seconds long! You can right click and select 'Get Info' and change some tags to make it easier to find in your iTunes library. I like to change the artist and genre to 'Ringtones' so that I know right where to find it.

Exit iTunes. Locate the file in your iTunes music directory and rename the .m4a extension to .m4r.

Once you have renamed the file, just double click on it so that it adds itself to your iTunes library again ... but this time as a iphone ringtone!! iTunes will launch, and the ringtone you just created will appear in the Ringtones list. If for some reason you are having an issue with this the first time, you might want to check in your iTunes preferences and see if you have the �Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized� option checked. Having that checked will automatically create a ringtone folder for you.

An alternative to the double click method is to simply open iTunes, open your ringtones library and then drag the .m4r file from windows explorer or finder (on mac) into the ringtone library. Either method should work.

Make sure "Manually manage music and video" is unchecked if you are in the new itunes.
Works in my jailbroken 1.1.3.

Other developers are eyeing the new phone's built-in compass or its "push notification" feature, which pings users with messages even if its instant-message application is not open.

"Apple has given us all these new tools," said William Kasel, founder and CEO of Jumpfox, a San Francisco, California-based company that makes mobile apps. "And I can't wait to see what developers come out with in the next six months. The new features really take [the phone] to a whole new level."

Apple fans in the United States and seven other countries lined up Friday morning to be among the first to get their hands on the new iPhone 3GS, billed as the fastest, most feature-laden iPhone yet. iReport: Buying an iPhone 3GS?
